You could argue that it's been a very good winter up to now at Dibden Golf Centre. Yes we've had some big rain, but compared to the last year's, "wettest winter on record," so far it has allowed us all to still get out onto the golf courses for a good amount of exercise and to keep that swing loose. From experience that is all you should expect from winter golf as it is very difficult to beat your handicap, because all golf courses are so much more challenging, so please bear this in mind when tallying up your score and remember the more you practice and work on your game now, the better prepared you will be come the start of the golfing season.
The firm conditions have also allowed our greens staff to do some mighty work, especially out on the nine hole course and from the picture you will see what a difference they have made by cutting and clearing away the lower tree canopies. The benefits making it easier to find your golf ball after a wayward shot and come the spring these areas will allow the mowers to access and cut deeper off the fairway and rough areas which will make the courses so much more pleasing to the eye.
