What a fortnight of sport! Saturday saw England wrap up victory in the first Ashes test at Cardiff with a day to spare (who predicted that at the start of the series?); Roger Federer produced some sublime tennis to beat Andy Murray in the semi-final at Wimbledon on Friday, but came up short in Sunday's final against Novak Djokovic and two young Americans in Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth came out on top either side of the pond leading into this week's Open.
So with McIlroy out of this year's event, Woods battling to regain form and no Brits in any real form going into the event, can we look past either of the Americans above? I am going to put my neck out very slightly and predict that a European golfer will win but unfortunately not one from England. Anyway, I hope you enjoy The Open and remember to watch the pro's prepare for each shot they play as copying and understanding their pre shot routines and even club selections (especially around the green) can only help your game. Watch the best, copy the best and I'm sure some of the positives will rub off.

News from the Bramshott Hill Golf Club
Congratulations to the one hundred participating golfers from all across the county who took part in the annual Seniors' Open last Tuesday. I heard many glowing appraisals from other golf club members that the competition, company, course and catering were very impressive. Well done seniors and I am sure lots of money was also raised for your charities!
