Yet another stunning day here at Dibden Golf Centre!
Well what an Open Championship that was, I cannot remember the last time we saw so many players with such a great chance of lifting the Claret Jug. Zach Johnson took the honours as part of a three way tie and play-off at the top. Well done also to Keith Maton on winning our pro shop sweepstake.
What impressed me the most was how good these top tournament pro's are with a wedge and putter in their hands. We can all learn from this and no doubt you will be using our excellent practice facilities over the next few months spending quality time improving your short game. Remember if you want to reduce your scores quickly, this area of the game is where it is at and I am always puzzled in seeing a busy driving range but very few of you actually practising the short game. Luke Donald recently quoted that for every hour he spends improving his long game on the range, he will spend two hours practicing from 100 yards and in! So ask yourself the question, how do you plan your practice? If you are looking for some extra help in improving your game this summer, why not click here to book a lesson with one of the team?
Good luck to everyone playing in the Club Championships this Sunday, 36 holes in one day is a feat in itself and no doubt the scoring will be of a very high standard.
Breakfast club will run every Tuesday morning between 8am and 10am and will cost just £5 for a full English breakfast including a FREE hot drink.
